Earthco Landscape is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated, and customer-focused Plant Health Care Specialist to join our growing team. This position is responsible for identifying plant health issues, developing treatment recommendations, managing plant healthcare services, and building strong client relationships throughout our commercial and residential landscape portfolio. The ideal candidate is passionate about horticulture, proactive in solving landscape health problems, and driven to grow recurring revenue through exceptional service and sales performance. This role combines field expertise, client communication, operational coordination, and sales development. Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus commission opportunities tied to sales growth, account retention, and service performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose plant, tree, and shrub health issues including pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, and irrigation-related stress. Develop and recommend customized plant health care treatment programs. Generate proposals and close sales for fertilization, pest control, disease management, soil health, and preventative maintenance services. Perform or oversee pesticide, herbicide, fertilizer, and soil amendment applications in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular site visits and proactive communication. Conduct landscape inspections and provide professional recommendations to improve overall landscape health and appearance. Coordinate scheduling of PHC services to ensure efficient routing and timely completion of work. Maintain accurate records of applications, chemical usage, inspections, and customer communications. Monitor inventory and ensure proper maintenance of PHC equipment and tools. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and pesticide regulations. Assist operations and account management teams with horticultural expertise and client support. Identify opportunities to upsell additional landscape enhancement and maintenance services. Attend client meetings, property walks, and site consultations as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in horticulture, arboriculture, landscape maintenance, or plant healthcare. Knowledge of ornamental trees, shrubs, turf, irrigation systems, and common Southern California plant species. Experience identifying and treating insects, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) preferred, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe. ISA Certified Arborist certification is a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using tablets, mobile apps, and scheduling/account management software. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
